Lovems – Review

When I started this blog I knew that I wanted to learn more about many of the artists on Etsy.com. I’ve admired so many items on that site and always marvel at how incredible the products are. I have tremendous respect for people who are creative in that way and I really appreciate all of the work and effort that is put into each piece. When I stumbled upon the “Lovems” shop on Etsy, I was truly impressed. See for yourself:

Too cute for words, right? It’s the best of both worlds – not only do you receive a super-soft and squishy blanket, but you also have a little stuffed friend built right in. For a mom, it’s great to know that there’s only one item I have constantly monitor instead of both a blanket and a stuffed friend (if your child likes to hide things as much as mine does you will know why this matters).

While Nancy (the creator of this product) has more than 60 Lovems pictured on her site, she encourages you to mix and match. I ended up choosing a pink monkey from one category and the blanket from another – everyone’s kid has preferences and tailoring your Lovem based on your child’s favorites is just one of this product’s many benefits. I challenge you to find me a kid who would not love this. Seriously – so unbelievably cute.

I tried for an hour to get a good picture of Anna playing with her new Lovem, but she could barely turn her head away from it to face the camera. She was far too busy burying her little head in the soft blanket, puzzling over where the Lovem had been all of her life and informing the new arrival of its duties (“You sleep with me! In the bed! With me! In the bed! At night! In the bed!”).

Thankfully, Nancy doesn’t leave the grown-ups out of the fun. She has a line of Blankies made from the same, super-soft “minkies” material. I can absolutely picture curling up on the couch with a good book and one of these blankets during a snow storm!
