Lou Lou’s Corner Review and Giveaway! (CONTEST CLOSED)

Lou Lou’s Corner is a toy store for kids of all ages! Their bricks-and-mortar store is located in Hickory, North Carolina, but luckily for all of us, their whimsical and unique selection of gifts is available to internet customers as well. They have everything from gifts for canine friends to extraordinary kitchen gadgets and beautiful children’s clothes – truly one stop shopping for everyone on your list!

Lou Lou’s Corner was kind enough to send me one of their most popular items – a Jellycat! For the uninitiated, Jellycats are a line of super-soft and plush animals and friends that were born in London, England. Fear not, these little friends meet or exceed ASTM and EN71 testing standards! Jellycats come in all different sizes, species and colors – they even have a line of adorable soft books for even the youngest Jellycat fan!

Any parent will tell you that the amount of stuffed animals your child receives in their young life is simply staggering. Every holiday, event, new movie or tv character seems to warrant at least three new stuffed friends. The first hundred or so are one thing, but after awhile it just gets plain out of control. For the first two-and-a-half years of her life, Anna didn’t have anything (other than a blanket, when necessary) in her crib with her. That changed earlier this year when we started allowing her to bring one “friend” to bed with her, much to her delight.

What I didn’t count on was the extra time it would take every day to make the excruciating decision about which lucky stuffed friend would accompany her to her bed. I think that Anna puts as much thought into this selection as jurors do in deciding life or death. She paces back and forth like a drill sergeant in front of the hopeful applicants, stopping to fix a droopy ear or straighten a wayward piece of hair. She stares hard at the line-up and, without warning, swoops down to gather up the winner for the day and tosses it into her crib. The whole process takes way too much time and I’ve often wished she would find a stuffed friend who might capture her fleeting interest for longer than one night.

When I presented Anna with her new Jellycat friend, Bunglie Kitten, she was instantly enthralled with it. I’m not entirely sure what it was about this particular stuffed animal that captivated her, but she has been obsessed with this furry friend ever since. The Bunglie Kitten is good-sized at 15″ and because of his round tummy he can sit up on his own – a huge plus when you need to fill seats at the tea party table! If you’re looking for a larger or smaller friend, the Jellycats come in sizes are large as 31″ and smaller sizes like 6″.
