Since next week is Thanksgiving, I’ve been thinking a lot about holiday food and menus.  Planning a holiday menu is different from any other menu you may put together throughout the year since you have to deal with not only your guests’ expectations, but you also have to somehow attempt to surpass their fond memories of past holiday meals.  There are some foods that your guests expect to have at their holiday meal, there are foods that the kids like, there’s that weird dish involving brussel sprouts that your Aunt Matilda demands annually, and there are the dishes from Top Chef that you’ve been dying to try for months now.  It’s hard enough trying to cook a meal with that many moving parts as it is – you shouldn’t have to worry about the cost of all of that food on top of it all!Picture 18

Sam’s Club has a great promotion going on this weekend called the  “Holiday Taste of Sam’s Club“.  You can find it at your local store starting  this Friday, November 20th through Sunday, November 22nd, every day from 11 AM to 6 PM.  Now, this isn’t your ordinary taste-while-shopping experience – a few of the items that you’ll be able to taste this weekend at Sam’s include Boneless Spiraled Ham, Spiced Apple Pork Loin, Italian Meatballs, Crab Cakes and the Cheesecake Factory Cheesecake – just to name a few!  You can check out this handy e-guide and see some of what Sam’s Club has for your holiday meal as well as which items will be available for you to taste on what date.

Picture 19There’s even a cooking demonstration each day to help you learn how to make different dishes, such as the Boneless Spiraled Ham with Mashed Potatoes (November 20th), Frenched Rack of Lamb with Asparagus (November 21st) and, my personal favorite, on Sunday, November 22nd is the Chocolate Dipping Event – I don’t have a clue what that is, but anything dipped in chocolate is good in my book!
