After my post the other day about the Holiday Taste of Sam’s Club and all the yummy treats they’d have out for sampling, Adam, Anna and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to visit our local store and get some shopping done while munching on morsels of holiday favorites.

Every time I go to our local Sam’s Club I’m struck by what a friendly and welcoming experience it is to shop there.  I do a lot of shopping at every kind of store – big box stores, department stores, dollar stores, discount stores, grocery stores, pharmacies – and I guess I’ve just become accustomed to employees ignoring me or acting like their doing me a favor by helping me.  Coming from that kind of shopping environment to the smiles, greetings and general helpfulness is such a welcome breath of fresh air!samstaste3

Today’s visit to Sam’s was no different – we were greeted several times at the door, helpfully directed to where we need to go and we happily strolled along towards the grocery section.  Now, I’m not sure where the stations are set up in every Sam’s Club, but in ours they were mainly in the meat area.  It was a lot of fun to walk around and check out some items we have our eye on for Christmas, all with little cups filled with treats in our hands.  We sampled some really great cheese, spectacular cinnamon buns and lots more, all while sipping hot cocoa!

Anna had a great time and the cool part about this tasting event is that it opened up Anna’s mind to trying some new foods!  I’ve discovered that if you put anything into a tiny plastic cup and let her feed herself with a toothpick, it suddenly becomes delightful and irresistible.  Maybe I’ll try putting some broccoli in a tiny cup with a toothpick and see what happens…

So, our first Holiday Taste of Sam’s was a definite success!  We found some really tasty new foods, got some great ideas for our holiday meals and left Sam’s Club happy and full.  I can’t wait for next year!

samstaste2There is still lots of time for you to head out to your local Sam’s Club this weekend and check out all the great tasting items and pick up what you need for Thanksgiving while you’re at it.  Not a Sam’s Club member?  No problem!  When you get to Sam’s, head right over to the service desk and request a One Day Pass!  You just have to show them some photo id and then you’re welcome to check out everything Sam’s has to offer to save your family money and get you ready for the holidays.
